The Ermenrich Verk FB20 tester is a small device with simple operation that is used to check the quality of brake fluid. During operation, moisture can accumulate in it, which reduces its consumable properties. If too much moisture accumulates, the brake system may fail. Therefore, it is recommended to check the brake fluid regularly.
The principle of operation of the tester is based on measuring the conductivity of the liquid. The tester probe is placed in the brake fluid; by default it works in DOT 3 mode and can be switched to DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 mode by pressing a button. The device performs the measurement in a few seconds: the display shows the percentage of humidity and the display changes to green, yellow or red. A value between 0-2% and a green display means everything is fine. At a value of 2-3%, a yellow display and an audible signal indicate a recommendation to change the brake fluid. At 4%, a red display and a quick beep signal indicate that the brake fluid needs to be changed immediately.
The device works on batteries. For reliable measurements, it is necessary to monitor their capacity: the device will notify you if their replacement is necessary.
