The smart two-channel ZigBee switch L140Z (phase only) is an innovative solution for remote control of lighting in the house using the Tuya app, making it a key part of every smart home. The L140Z switch is designed to be installed in an electrical installation box or under a switch, and unlike conventional switches, it does not need a neutral wire to be powered. It is therefore particularly suitable for older electrical installations, where normally only phase switches are used. Of course, the physical buttons are preserved.
The L140Z smart switch uses the secure ZigBee protocol to ensure stable and reliable operation. Due to the absence of a neutral wire, and the resulting necessary low power consumption, the L140Z smart switch does not work as a signal extender. For some lights with an LED bulb, it is necessary to connect a capacitor in parallel, which is included in the package. The switching itself takes place using a semiconductor element - a triac. This leads to lower consumption and longer service life, as the coil and contacts of a traditional relay are eliminated.
The device provides the ability to create a number of scenarios and connect with other elements. For example, with one press of a button in the app, you can turn off all the lights in the house. This action can also be linked, for example, to pressing a smart button in another place in the house.
The L140Z switch has functions such as automatically turning off the lights after a certain hour, or setting various timers. It also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice assistants. Advanced users can further integrate it into the Home Assistant system, via a ZigBee adapter and the Zigbee2MQTT software.
Please note that a ZigBee central unit is required for proper functionality.
